SIS performs First-article Inspections of parts using a variety of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to verify accuracy and feature characteristics according to of ASME Y14.5 guidelines.
We can inspect machined parts or rapid-prototype parts for compliance with CAD models or 2D prints.
Inspection reports are developed to illustrate the print or model dimension, tolerance, part dimension and deviation. Inspection reports summarize the deviations and highlight non-conformance of the machined part. Features of the part that may exist just inside the tolerance band signaling a possible future defect should corrections not be made prior to the next parts manufacture are identified. Visual data is captured digitally and displayed in a report for disposition of the part should it need repair or scrap analysis.
Large production runs of machined parts can be programmed on the CMM inspection equipment to automate repetitive inspections. This substantially reduces the turn-around time for inspecting large quantities of parts.
