Progress continues by the Robotics Team on a number of
projects. For the US Navy, our Team has been involved in Swarm
II, which is a capabilities expansion of Swarm I that we conducted last
August. Members of the Team traveled to Mayport, Florida to brief
staff members of the US Navy 4th Fleet on Swarm II
objectives and possible scenarios for demonstrations.
Additionally, a Technology Design Review was recently held and the
customer was extremely pleased with the ongoing working.
For the Strategic Capabilities Office, OSD, our Team
continues to work on SeaMob, which is another Swarm type event for
Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV). In the past few weeks we have
participated in a number of Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and Design
Reviews regarding the autonomy, perception suite and vessel design /
production. The Team will become even more involved in the coming
months.
Scott Corey had a grand finish with the Hammerhead
project! All objectives were met with many objectives exceeding
expectations. This project has now wrapped up and has been a
complete success. Well done Scott!
Stephen Bald has been working the SwampHammer project,
which is unique in that it requires Stephen to be underway from the
afternoon until night time so that he can collect data on the system
for both day and night under similar weather conditions. This has
led to some long days and challenging underway times because of
weather.
Last but certainly not least, the Team welcomes Rob
Tolentino and Christine Parrett aboard. These two are great
additions to our Team and have arrived at a perfect time to become
involved in some ground breaking technology projects!
